How to Brew Walnut Leaf

A mild, slightly astringent, earthy, tea-like character.

Native to Europe and parts of Asia; the walnut associated with English cooking was introduced to Britain by the Romans.

Here is how to brew Walnut Leaf for a clean, full-flavoured cup. One ingredient. Nothing added.

How to Brew Walnut Leaf

  1. Measure about 2 g of Walnut Leaf into your cup or teapot.
  2. Heat fresh, filtered water to 100 C.
  3. Pour the water over the Walnut Leaf and steep for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Strain and serve.

Tips

  • Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, tightly sealed after opening.
  • In the kitchen: Walnut leaf tea is a distinct product from the nut itself, used purely as a dried-leaf infusion.
