Brews pale olive-green
- Cut artichoke leaf (Cynara scolymus) sealed into silky pyramid bags, so a full earthy cup is one bag and one kettle away. The plant is native to the Mediterranean, where the same leaf has long been used in the kitchen as well as the teapot. One ingredient. Nothing added.
- The cup is deep and vegetal with a gentle bitter edge, a full rounded body and a clean, dry finish. The aroma reads as fresh cut herb rather than floral, and a mild green sweetness sits underneath, which is why most artichoke drinkers take it plain.
- Steep one pyramid bag in freshly boiled water at 95 to 100 C for five to six minutes per 200 ml cup. Leave it longer for a fuller, more bitter brew, and re-steep the same bag once or twice, since the cut leaf keeps giving after the first pour.
- The pyramid shape lets the cut leaf open completely in the water, so you get the same flavour as our loose artichoke with no strainer, no measuring and nothing to rinse out afterwards. Each bag is individually portioned for a single cup or a small pot.
- Packed into a resealable pouch that keeps the bags dry and aromatic between cups. Store it sealed away from heat, light and moisture, and keep it beside the kettle for an easy caffeine free cup in the afternoon or the evening.
