Caffeine free red bush tea from the South African rooibos plant, blended with orange peel and coconut for a smooth, naturally sweet cup. Because it holds no caffeine and stays low in tannins, this herbal infusion suits the morning, the afternoon, or the hour before bed without disturbing sleep.
Expect a mellow, creamy citrus flavour. Bright orange notes wrap around the mild, woody warmth of red rooibos while coconut adds a soft, rounded finish. There is no bitterness and no astringency, so it drinks well plain with no milk or sugar needed, and it stays gentle enough for the whole family.
Simple to prepare hot. From the loose blend, use one heaping teaspoon per 8 ounces of freshly boiled water at around 200 to 212 F, then steep 5 to 10 minutes. From a pyramid bag, steep one bag the same way, with no strainer to rinse. Red bush will not turn bitter when left longer, so an extra minute or two only gives a deeper, fuller flavoured infusion rather than harshness.
Works iced and cold brewed too. For a cold brew, add about 1.5 teaspoons of the loose blend per 250 ml of cold water and chill 6 to 12 hours, then strain for a clean glass. Or steep strong and pour over ice with an orange slice for a quick caffeine free iced tea on a warm day.
A herbal blend of rooibos with orange and coconut pieces plus natural flavouring, available as loose leaf or as silky pyramid tea bags. Coconut is treated as a tree nut for allergen labelling, and blends like this may be handled alongside other nuts, so please check the packaging if you have a nut allergy before drinking.
